Luxuriously soft and elegant, the Kimono holds a central role in Japanese culture - a statement fashion piece and a wearable work of art.
Once retired from life’s catwalk our artisan partners re-craft these graceful garments into violin dust bags. Beautifully decorative, some of the Kimono’s we use date back as far as the 1960s and feature vintage designs inspired by nature – you’ll recognize the traditional maple leaves (momiji), peonies (botan), Plum blossom (ume) and Chrysanthemums (kiku).
The delicate material is the perfect companion for polished wood and strings, guarding against dust and scratching while clinging to the form of the instrument within the case. The drawstring is formed from a Duchess satin bias binding, which glides effortlessly through the silk as you open or close the bag.
The Beaumont UpStitched project collaborates with some incredible designers to up-cycle existing products and materials, keeping materials in everyday use and making some awesome accessories for musicians on the way.
